Dear John
Today, on planet earth, 40-something years ago, you were born and the place has never been the same. I've had the honor of being on the same planet for most of that time and in generally the same part of the planet. I'm proud to be your brother. I look forward to another 40 years or so of that position, they say it gets even better in the second act.
You have helped me understand what it means to be strong. You are a man of many talents. Perhaps your greatest talent? Mixtapes.
Have you ever seen the part of mom's journals where she talks about your birth? Maybe you could read it to the kids, I know they would love it. It would be a great way to celebrate your first-day-on-earth day.
I want you to know I appreciate you, in ways that I haven't even had a chance to say yet, or all the words. Can't wait for the next chapter.
